“Good grief!” So my (Italian-American) mother used to say. (I’m more inclined to “I’m NotForkWithAble!”)
Adaptology. This thread is on grief. My grief, but sharing with others too. My wife (L) had cancer–the treatment failed in June two years ago and she passed away a month later. I kept an erratic journal for the past three years. I cannot tell you what works and offer no therapies or panaceas.
I do believe that sharing the raw experience of caring for someone who is dying and then bereavement itself may be helpful for others. The posts here are not chronological. I’ll dip into the journal; let’s see how it goes. Do share your stories too.
If there is one image that captures much of my experience it is this cartoon. Standing, together. On Instagram, @together_not_alone has been a comforting group to follow.
A shout out to Bob Guy for his cartoon–wonderfully simple, profoundly insightful. Follow him: https://www.instagram.com/heybobguy
